On Saturday, December 14th, in the heart of the hectic holiday season, there is much to do and see in Parker, Colorado. One can start the day by having breakfast with Santa at To The Rescue, at noon watch the traditional Parker Carriage Parade with its many equestrian entries followed by a trip to the Parker Library for A Salute to Local Authors Book Extravaganza sponsored by Denver Speakers Bureau.
Ten dynamic Author/Speakers will inspire, educate and entertain with motivational journeys and life lessons. From 1:30-4:30 pm, the public is invited to drop in for a festive holiday treat. Authors will be available for book signings, interviews and readings from their books. There will be food, prizes and music.
Participating authors include Deborah Jane Wells, Karen Loucks Rinedollar, Barbara Oliviero, Chris Natzke, Kim Langelaar, Anthonette Klinkerman, Maisha I, Jan Haas, Beatrice Bruno and Sharon Barnes.
For those attendees who have their own stories they would like to publish, the Book Whisperer will be available with how to tips and workshops.
Canned items may be brought and donated for the local food bank, The Parker Task Force. Donors will be rewarded for their generosity by having their book purchases wrapped for free.The event is free and open to the public, Well behaved children are welcome. And if you still have energy after such a busy day, there are free horse drawn carriage rides that evening from 5-9 in downtown Parker.
