Stress Management Specialist
Dr. Rumsey received his MA in Counseling in 1993, and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision in 2002. He has counseled over 9,000 groups, and hundreds of couples and individuals toward the resolution of various life dilemmas.
He has provided public speaking and training engagements to multiple state organizations, including the annual judicial conference for judges, annual district attorney conference, adolescent mental health conference, and trainings on stress management, dealing with difficult clients, and dynamics of personal and professional change to most Denver metropolitan municipal, county, and district probation and human service organizations. He has taught full-time master and doctorate students for nearly 12 years, and was voted outstanding faculty member of the year in 2012.
He founded National Institute for Change, PC (NIC) in 2005, and he sold it in 2012, with 24 employees, serving over 900 clients in 4 Denver locations. NIC’s reputation is exemplary, and continues to provide outstanding forensic evaluative and treatment services. Dr. Rumsey also trained Molson Coors’ first international team in Toronto, Canada around communication strategies, conflict strategies, and team-building.
His trainings are dynamic, memorable, and built upon a very unique model of sustainable growth and realization of individual and collective potential. Ratings for all of his trainings consistently exceed expectations.
