DR. TRAVIS M. HEARNE, EdD

Outside of my academic career is where the real learning happened. I served 9 honorable years in the United States Marine Corps leading teams to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2008-2009, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010. During this time, I truly experienced the full spectrum of leadership and what I learned was that great leadership could save lives and poor leadership could cost lives. I bring these lessons to life and tie them into everything I speak about. I learned how to overcome failure, success, and everything in between.

From 2011-2016, while still an active-duty Marine, I served as a Senior Intelligence Analyst at United States Northern Command leading teams focusing on the analysis of terrorist threats to the homeland and illicit activities of transnational criminal organization. After leaving the Marine Corps in 2016, I continued my service as a government civilian, first as an intelligence officer focusing on counterterrorism operations for the Defense Intelligence Agency, then as the Chief of the Border Security, Counter-Narcotics, and Counter-Cartel directorate, and finally as the Chief Interagency and Operational Officer for the command, specifically focusing on advanced cybersecurity threats from Russia and China. Since 2015, I’ve been traveling around the world, speaking to organizations about a wide variety of relevant topics, tailoring my keynotes to the specific needs of the organization.
