Valarie Allman Sion is an American track and field athlete specializing in the discus throw and one of the most decorated throwers in American history. She is a two-time Olympic champion, having won the gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. Allman earned bronze at the 2022 World Athletics Championships — making her the first American woman to win a world championship medal in the discus throw — and later added a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships. She is the North American record holder for the event.

Valarie's path to the podium is as remarkable as the medals themselves. An accomplished dancer, she took up track and field her freshman year as a jumper and sprinter — and began throwing discus so she could attend the annual spaghetti dinner that the throwers had every year. That humble, joyful beginning launched a world-record-breaking career.

Off the field, Valarie was co-valedictorian at Silver Creek High School in Longmont, Colorado, where she carried a weighted GPA of 4.4. She went on to earn a B.S. in Product Design from Stanford University. A lover of ice cream, dance parties, and dogs, Valarie travels from Austin, Texas.
