Damien Ramon Anderson, is a former American college and professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League.
Born in Chicago, he played college football at Northwestern University, where he became the school’s all-time leading rusher and earned All-American honors. He closed his four-year career with 4,485 rushing yards (the eighth-best figure in Big Ten history), 38 rushing touchdowns and 5,261 all-purpose yards—all school records.
He earned All-American honors by finishing 2nd in total running and finished 5th in the balloting for the Heisman Trophy. He was tabbed a Doak Walker Award (nation’s top running back) finalist. He was named to All-America teams by the Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp, Football News, CNN/SI.com and Sporting News. He was also had a feature on ESPN’S Sportscentury. His running exploits in 2000 helped the Wildcats capture a share of the Big Ten title, their third conference crown in a six-year period.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent and played with the Arizona Cardinals (2002-2006) and played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL (2007-2008).
Damien works with the Arizona Cardinals as their Manager of Alumni Programs and serves as Vice-president of the NFL Alumni Arizona Chapter.
Throughout the season Damien hosts the Arizona Cardinals pregame huddle, a three hour radio show leading up to kickoff.
