I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spoken on this topic, yet, I’m not sure if my audiences “get” what I’m talking about! Everyone has a dream. Small or large, everyone has something to live for. It could be to take a motorcycle ride in the mountains, buy that new dream home, or just to sip a cup of coffee on the porch and enjoy the peaceful morning’s sunshine. Whatever your dream, passion, goal, you can achieve it. Lyn Grabhorn, author of, Excuse me, your Life is Waiting says regarding dreams, “You have to want it, feel it, believe it.” I add, and Live it. You may ask, “But how?” Here’s what I’ve learned regarding the “How.”
One. Vision. You must have a dream, a goal, something that makes you want to get up in the morning. If you don’t know, notice what brings you joy and only do those things. This will lead you to your passion/vision. Vision is internal, not external, and is guided by your heart not your mind.
Two. Attitude. Be positive, in thoughts and in words. What you think, so you create. For example, “I don’t have enough money” will only create more “I don’t have enough money.” “I have everything I need and more” is a positive statement that will bring results to your pocketbook. It’s not the money you want anyway, it’s the things you can do with the money, right?
Three. Transformation. Be willing to take a risk, get out of your comfort zone. I have a good friend who says, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” Are you willing to be uncomfortable to live a life of greatness? Do you want to exist or be extraordinary?
Four. Commitment. You have to be “all in” with your dream. How many times do you tell yourself you want to lose five pounds, then, you eat the doughnut? Eating the doughnut equates to not being “all in.” Commitment is sacred between you and your Divine source. Break your commitments and you break your sacred vow.
Five. Action. There is a Japanese proverb which says, “Vision without action is a daydream, action without vision is a nightmare.” You have to have both. The action is done because you want to, not because you have to. Your action will assist you in fulfilling your dream. Your action should bring you joy, for, you are the creator of your destiny
The reason we don’t live up to our greatness is fear which comes from our ego. We believe we are separate and can’t have what we say we want. The forever trick is to follow the longing in our hearts and always do what brings us joy. We all know “how” to be happy. We know our dreams. Now, I encourage you to: See your vision, Listen to your inner voice, Speak your truth, Follow your heart, Reach out to others, Tune into your intuition, and Live a life of greatness!
Due to prematurity, and given too much pure oxygen while incubated, Gail spent her childhood partially sighted. At age eleven, Gail became totally blind and soon after developed her “inner vision.” She has spent her life assisting others in overcoming their obstacles, challenges, fears, and life’s daily struggles, with the hope of empowering others to see their opportunities, choices, passion, creativity, spontaneity and to live a life of greatness.
