Ms. Senior America 2004, Teacher, Motivator
She is a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, entertainer, speaker AND the woman in the ‘walk-in’ tub commercial. She was also Ms. Senior America 2004 and, YES, there really IS such a thing and NO, there is not a swimsuit competition!
Summing up the more serious side of her journey for the past 17 years, however, begins with a second chance at life which was the beginning of a new commitment to helping others. She suffered a heart attack following the 1999 shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, CO. The tragedy hit too close to home. she taught one of the killers and her husband and daughter coached with the teacher who lost his life that day. Columbine changed Michelle’s life and she came out of her recovery with a new dedication to life and the choices that we make.
Michelle’s choice is to “shout it from the mountain tops” that we DO have the potential to be ‘the best we can be’ with the gifts in which we’ve been entrusted. It IS our responsibility…hmmm…what a concept…to be accountable for our actions……these choices are decisions which promote life’s path to the ultimate…..it is OUR INDIVIDUAL choice!
