Victim’s assistance Unit/Denver Assessment Response Team Susan Gann and District One Sargent G Michael Vogler
from the Denver Police Department will be interviewed this week on Chrissie Hodges’ radio show The Stigma of Mental Illness Radio on www.cosmicbroadcasting.com.
“I was fortunate enough to sit down with them AND get to speak to several of them a few weeks ago as they are planning an incredible overhaul of their training system with all of the officers when it comes to mental illness and how to handle individuals who have mental illness,” explained Chrissie. “This has been a need for the Denver Police for a very VERY long time and these officers are really excited about the program. I feel HONORED to be on board to help out during the training!”
There will be great information and insight on the show this week. You can join Chrissie on Thursday, March 20, 3-4pm MST or check out the archive which will be posted by Friday on www.cosmicbroadcasting.com.
Also, it is hard to know what to do to start gaining and spreading awareness for mental health. Luckily Denver is hosting a Mental Health Conversation that anyone can come to and participate on Saturday, April 5th from 8:30-12:30 downtown in Denver. Chrissie will be there. You can contact her at ocd.chrissie@yahoo.com for more information.
There are some great things happening and in the works right now for mental health…stay tuned!
